Nintex RPA Chrome Extension

After you install Nintex RPA Central and Nintex RPA, you must install the Nintex RPA Chrome Extension if you want to target and automate interacting with elements in Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge (Chromium based) web pages. The Nintex RPA Chrome Extension can be installed on Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge.

Requirements for using the Selector Tool with Google Chrome

The requirements for using the Nintex RPA Selector tool Feature used to target web browser or desktop applications components for botflow interaction. with Google Chrome are:

  • Nintex RPA version 16.5.5 or higher.
  • Nintex RPA Chromium Extension version 1.0.0.5 or higher.
  • Google Chrome Version 75 or higher.
  • Google Chrome Zoom set to 100%.
  • Windows Display Scale and layout set to 100% (Settings->System->Display).
  • Windows Display Make text bigger set to 100% (Settings->Ease of Access->Display).

Install Nintex RPA Chrome Extension for Google Chrome

To install the Nintex RPA Chrome Extension for Google Chrome:

  1. Start Google Chrome.
  2. Using Google Chrome, go to https://www.nintex.com/chrome.

  3. Click Add to Chrome to install the Nintex RPA Chrome Extension.

  4. If a pop-up displays, click to add the extension.

  5. Close Google Chrome and Nintex RPA.
  6. Restart Google Chrome and Nintex RPA.

  7. Nintex RPA can now target and automate the interaction of elements within Google Chrome web pages.

Nintex RPA Chrome Extension disabled

If when targeting an element in Google Chrome using the Nintex RPA Selector Tool you get the message "The Nintex RPA Chrome Extension is disabled in your browser. Please enable the extension and try again," ensure:

  • The Nintex RPA Chrome Extension is installed and enabled.
    1. Click the ellipsis in the Google Chrome navigation bar located in the top right corner of your browser window.
    2. Select More tools > Extensions.
    3. Install the Nintex RPA Chrome Extension if it does not display in the list of extensions. Enable the Nintex RPA Chrome Extension if it not enabled.

  • Nintex RPA Chromium Channel (32 bit) is running.
    1. Select Ctrl+Alt+Delete.
    2. Click Task Manager. Nintex RPA Chromium Channel (32 bit) should display under the Processes tab in the Apps list.
    3. Remove and reinstall the extension if Nintex RPA Chromium Channel (32 bit) does not display. If this does not fix the issue, contact Nintex Support.

Requirements for using the Selector Tool with Microsoft Edge

The requirements for using the Nintex RPA Selector Tool with Microsoft Edge are:

  • Nintex RPA version 16.5.5 or higher.
  • Nintex RPA Chromium Extension version 1.0.0.7 or higher.
  • Microsoft Edge Version 83 or higher.
  • Google Chrome Zoom set to 100%.
  • Windows Display Scale and layout set to 100% (Settings->System->Display).
  • Windows Display Make text bigger set to 100% (Settings->Ease of Access->Display).

Install Nintex RPA Chrome Extension for Microsoft Edge

To install the Nintex RPA Chrome Extension for Microsoft Edge:

  1. Start Microsoft Edge.
  2. Click meatball on the top-right corner of the Microsoft Edge browser, and click Extensions.
  3. Click Chrome Web Store. You are redirected to the Chrome Web Store.
  4. Click Allow extensions from other stores, and click Allow when prompted.
  5. Using Microsoft Edge, go to https://www.nintex.com/chrome.
  6. Click Add to Chrome to install the Nintex RPA Chrome Extension for Google Chrome.
  7. When the Add "Nintex RPA Chrome Extension" to Microsoft Edge message appears, click Add extension. The Nintex RPA Chrome Extension icon displays in the Microsoft Edge toolbar.
  8. Close Microsoft Edge and Nintex RPA.
  9. Restart Microsoft Edge and Nintex RPA.
  10. Nintex RPA can now target and automate elements within Microsoft Edge web pages.
