About connections

This topic describes connections and when they're needed.

What are connections?

Connections are used by App Studio to configure the app’s data sources. A connection specifies a service or environment that the app’s users sign in with using their own credentials.

When do I need connections?

Every app requires at least one connection. In advanced scenarios, your app may require multiple connections to collate forms and tasks from multiple environments.
